Regulate the government's authority to reset the Outback
1 - About this Act
(1) This Act
(a) may be cited as the Resets Act.
(b) may be numbered as P.B.03-007.
(c) shall be enacted immediately upon receiving assent from Her Majesty the Queen.
(d) has been authored by Prime Minister Capt11543.
(e) has been co-sponsored by Member of Parliament ConsequencesInc.
2 - Initiating Resets
(1) Parliament shall have the authority to schedule resets of the entire Outback by simple majority vote.
(2) Parliament may schedule Outback resets no less than 14 days in advance.
(3) The government must give notice to the public as soon as is practicable after Parliament schedules an Outback reset.
(4) Parliament may reschedule or cancel a scheduled reset by simple majority vote.
(5) A reset may be scheduled no less than 180 days after the completion of the previous reset.
3 - Rights of Players
(1) Any player may file a complaint before the Magistrate's Court to allege that the Crown has acted in violation of §2 of this Act.
(2) The Magistrate may issue a Writ to halt or cease a scheduled Outback reset as emergency relief in such a case.
(3) The Crown must prove on the balance of probabilities that the Outback reset at issue was initiated lawfully.
(4) If the Magistrate rules in favor of the plaintiff, and the Outback reset at issue was not carried out by the time the ruling is issued, the Magistrate may grant no more than £1,500 of monetary relief to the plaintiff.
(5) If the Magistrate rules in favor of the plaintiff, and the Outback reset at issue was carried out by the time the ruling is issued, the Magistrate may grant as much monetary relief to the plaintiff as is necessary to compensate the plaintiff for their losses. The Magistrate shall hold a hearing to determine the amount of the Plaintiff's losses.
