IN THE MAGISTRATES' COURT OF ALEXANDRIA
HEAR YE’ HEAR YE’ THE VERDICT HATH ARRIVED
Position of Parties
The Crown’s position is that the defendant has committed the crime of Obstruction of Justice by “
Intimidating a Magistrate into rendering a Not Guilty verdict.”
The defendant’s position is that they are
“a powerful man who shouldn’t have to waste this[sic] time with this garbage” and
“I am the Don of a Mafia with 19 members”
The Crown believes that the defendant
‘violently threatened’ Magistrate Gribble19, and that this was a ‘deliberate attempt to corrupt a Magistrate’s impartial judgement’
Review
In
Case 19 (Mag. Ct., 2025) LukeyyyMC issued a statement that they are ‘leading a mafia’ and that
‘we will kill you if you don’t give a Not Guilty Verdict’ as seen in P-001 and on the record.
While it may be the case that LukeyyyMC threatened the judicial officer into providing a verdict in their favor, there is still the question of whether or not this is considered obstruction of justice as defined in
A.P.01-006 § 20.7.a “Obstruction of Justice - A player is guilty of obstruction of justice if they willfully and deliberately act in a manner which hinders the apprehension, conviction, defense, or punishment of any player.”
So, did LukeyyyMC by issuing threats of violence - “hinder the apprehension, conviction, defense, or punishment of any player”?
I find it unlikely that the defendant’s actions hindered their potential conviction or punishment. The Crown has not demonstrated that the recipient of the perceived threats found them to be obstructive to their work, nor has their work seemingly been affected by the comments of the defendant.
While I do believe that the defendant was serious in their threats, as they have levied similar threats in my courtroom - The judiciary has tools to handle those who speak out of turn - additionally there’s a specific court crime for those who disrespect a judicial officer (
Id. at § 18.2.a)
I do not believe that the crime of ‘Obstruction of Justice’ had occurred in consideration of the evidence levied against the defendant and the lack of testimony that might support this point.
While it’s possible that other crimes may have been committed such as the aforementioned ‘Contempt of a Judicial Officer’, or some other crime within A.P.01-006, the crime of Obstruction of Justice has not occurred here.
The court finds the defendant
NOT GUILTY on the charge of Obstruction of Justice.
