Amend the Constitution to allow Parliament to establish activity requirements for voting and holding office
1 - About this Act
(1) This Act:
(a) may be cited as the "Activity Requirements Enabling Act".
(b) is numbered P.B.04-### (to be assigned by the Office of the Speaker).
(c) shall be enacted upon passing a Constitutional amendment referendum.
(d) has been authored by MP Capt11543.
(e) has been co-sponsored by <co-sponsor>.
2 - Amendments to the Constitution
(1) Article 22(1) of the Constitution shall now read:
"Every citizen has the right to run for and hold elected offices. Parliament may by law establish reasonable activity requirements for running in elections and maintaining elected offices."
(2) Article 22(2) of the Constitution shall now read:
"Every citizen has the right to vote in elections and referendums. Parliament may by law establish reasonable activity requirements for achieving and maintaining eligibility to vote."
