Information Eminent Domain and Expropriation

Purpose​

These policies ensure that New Hamilton continues to grow in a natural and consistent manner. These regulations and reports come from:

• R.E.A.L.T.O.R Act
• Inactive Owner Act
• Eminent Domain Act

Types of Reports

Report Name	Cause	Resolution(s)	Citation
Inactivity of Owner (IO)	If the owner shows less than 6 hours of playtime in the last thirty days.	14 Day Notice to have 6 hours or more. After 14 days with no response, plot is expropriated without compensation or notice.	Inactive Owner Act - Section 3
Lack of Development (LD)	If the owner does not make efforts in developing their plot.	Notice is given and the owner is required to submit a plan to develop the property, or sell it. If a plan is not submitted within 14 days, the plot will be expropriated under the terms of the Eminent Domain Act.	Inactive Owner Act - Section 4
Non-Compliance (NC)	If a plot is found to be in violation of any applicable law or Ministry regulation.	Notice is given and the owner is required to submit a plan to develop the property, or sell it. If a plan is not submitted within 14 days, the plot will be expropriated under the terms of the Eminent Domain Act.	Inactive Owner Act - Section 5
