Information for Applicants

This document sets out information for applicants to roles in the Ministry of Welfare.​

OVERVIEW
The Ministry of Welfare has a broad responsibility to the People of Alexandria. We are a human face to the Government and interact with Players through their jobs, their exams, their culture (the Wiki and Museum), and their health.

Joining one of the Ministry's many Offices gives you a real chance to learn what it is like to work in Government, interact with many of the systems that players depend upon day in day out, and make new friends.

ROLES IN THE MINISTRY
All applicants to the Ministry of Welfare MUST:​

• be friendly and enthusiastic;​
• be able to work well in a wider team and independently as needed;​
• be willing to learn new skills;​
• have and be available on Discord; and​
• have their in-game and forums accounts synced.​

Currently there are no blanket playtime requirements for entry-level roles in the Ministry of Welfare to promote the growth of the Ministry and our Kingdom!

The entry-level roles available for application in the Ministry are organised below.

CULTURE OFFICE
The Culture Office of the Ministry of Welfare oversees the cultural heritage of our Kingdom. It is responsible for the upkeep of the New Hamilton Central Library and the National Museum of Alexandria.

LIBRARIAN
Applications are: OPEN
Librarians are responsible for the upkeep and expansion of the New Hamilton Central Library (the StateCraft Wiki).
A candidate MUST:​

• Have some skill at writing​
• Have some skill at gathering information​

An ideal candidate MAY:

• Have experience writing for a wiki previously
• Know how to cite sources.

CURATOR
Applications are: OPEN
Curators are responsible for documenting and displaying our history at the National Museum of Alexandria.
A candidate MUST:​

• Have some skill at writing;​
• Have some skill at decorating; and​
• Have some skill at gathering information.​

EDUCATION OFFICE
The Education Office is responsible for the running of the University of New Hamilton and the important research work done there.

RESEARCHER
Applications are: OPEN
Researchers are an important role in the Ministry of Welfare and form the backbone of many of our projects. They are responsible for:​

• the creation and maintenance of exams and job guides; and​
• the development of new items and recipes​

A candidate MUST:

• Be creative;​
• Have some skill at writing; and​
• Have some skill at gathering information.​

An ideal candidate MAY:

• Have experience with Nexo;
• Have experience with Blockbench;
• Have basic coding experience.
