Parliament considered a motion to approve amendments to the Standing Orders which had originally been proposed and approved at an invalidated session.

Mr. Speaker of Parliament,

I move that Parliament legitimizes the actions of the in-game session, sans the Speaker and Deputy Speaker Nominations, as well as MP appointments. I feel it would be improper to leave the other actions of that wonderful night Null and Void on a technicality. I can understand wanting to repeat the other ones to ensure they are not questioned.

#007: Motion to Convene Committee
Parliament considered a motion to convene a Public Rules Review Committee

Mr. Speaker,

I move that Parliament establish a Public Rules Review Committee on the following terms:
  1. The Committee shall review existing legislation and government policies to identify public rules that should be placed in Acts of Parliament or statutory instruments, and prepare the necessary draft legislation and instruments.

  1. Its work shall focus on giving existing rules a clear statutory basis. Any recommended substantive policy changes shall be identified separately.

  1. The Committee shall consist of three Members of Parliament, chaired by Nimq_. The remaining two members shall be appointed by Parliament following nominations, with at least one drawn from the opposition.

  1. The Committee may invite ministers, officials and other interested persons to provide evidence or drafting assistance. Invited contributors shall not have voting rights.

  1. The Committee shall report its findings and recommended drafts to Parliament within 21 days of all three members being appointed. It shall have no authority to enact legislation, make statutory instruments or direct ministers.

  1. The Committee shall dissolve upon submitting its final report, unless Parliament extends its mandate
