Amend the Royal Bank Act
To Definitively Allow the Speaker to Serve on the Board​

1 — About this Act
(1) This Act

(a) may be cited as ‘RBA Clarification Act’.​

(b) may be numbered as P.B.02-002.​

(c) shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.​

(d) has been authored by Member of Parliament TheStormcrafter.​

(e) has been co-sponsored by Member of Parliament SeminoBlue.​

2 — Amendments to the Royal Bank Act
(1) Amend §5(7) of the Royal Bank Act to read the following:

"Disqualification: No Member of Parliament except the Speaker and their Deputy or minister of government may serve on the Board."​

The RBA Clarification Act​

Parliament notes:
(1) Members of Parliament are disqualified from serving as Board Member of the RBA.
(2) This definition may or may not include the Speaker.
(3) The Speaker, unlike other Members of Parliament, does not need to be disqualified due to the neutrality of the position.

Based on this, Parliament decides:
(1) To specifically exclude the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

To fulfill this, Parliament projects the following expenses:
(1) There are no direct expenses linked to the enactment of this Act.

Further, Parliament projects the following administrative efforts:
(1) There are no direct administrative efforts linked to the enactment of this Act.
