Return Industry to Alexandria
1 - Short Title and Enactment
- This Act may be cited as the ‘Bring Industry Back Act'.
- This Act may be numbered as P.B. 03-10.
- This Act shall be enacted immediately upon its signage.
- This Act was authored by Ayatha.
- This Act has been co-sponsored by bloodyrebals.
2 - Reasons
- Industry (e.g. economic activity) at the moment is mostly concentrated within the outback due to New Hamilton’s lack of ability to enable players to immediately exercise the vast majority of minecraft's gameplay without jumping through numerous hoops, a number of which are gated by initial cash hurdles not matched by starting balances. This causes new players to end up spending the vast majority of their time outside of New Hamilton, negatively affecting the economy due to the inherent unsocial nature of Minecraft’s production loops and increased distance decreasing the potential convenience factor of the shops that currently exist.
- If players were centralised within the actual world of New Hamilton, it would feel far more populated and much less like the ghost town it currently is, increasing potential for spontaneous roleplaying opportunities as players have a higher chance of actually bumping into eachother and having a form of interaction that isn’t immediate murder.
- One of the main draws of the server as a concept is a robust city roleplay scenario, and thus we should have actual sources of resources within the city to enable for it to actually make sense as a self sufficient island nation
3 - Method of Enactment
- The MOIA will establish an Office of Resources and Minerals to oversee the creation and maintenance of regenerating resource bearing areas that can be accessed by the general public.
- The Office of Resources and Minerals will have the authority to rezone government owned land into ‘Resource Gathering Areas (RGAs)’ which will facilitate resource gathering within the city.
- The Office of Resources and Minerals will work hand in hand with the Ministry of Development to outline future developments nearby RGAs to integrate them into the server economy.
- The Office of Resources and Minerals will specifically work to cater to Miner’s, Farmers, Lumberjacks and Hunter’s via creating RGAs that service their needs that should include but are not limited to:
- Public Tree Farms
- Agriculture Zoned Plots
- Animal Parks (really, just put spawners under carpet)
- Regenerating Enriched Mountains or Mineshafts
