AMENDMENT 41
Should the associated Motion to Amend pass, the Standing Orders shall be amended in the manner described below.

A new subsection shall be inserted after §5(5) which reads the following, and all subsequent subsections shall be renumbered appropriately.
(6) Except as otherwise provided, the Speaker may delay the consideration of a bill or resolution before it enters Reading and Debate if there are at least three other bills or resolutions in Reading and Debate.
(a) Except as otherwise provided, bills and resolutions must be advanced to Reading and Debate in the order in which they were tabled.​

§5a(2)(a) shall now read:
(a) The bill or resolution shall advance to Reading and Debate as soon as is practicable after the bill has been tabled and acknowledged by the Speaker, notwithstanding §5(6)(a).

The following new paragraph shall be inserted after §5a(2)(e):
(f) The bill or resolution may not be delayed by the Speaker pursuant to §5(6).

AMENDMENT 42
Should the associated Motion to Amend pass, §5(b) shall be struck from the Standing Orders of Parliament, and the following subsection (c) shall be renumbered to subsection (b).


(b) Posting a Statement of Intent as a reply to the bill thread. (See Appendix B for Statement of Intent formatting standards.)

AMENDMENT 43
Should the associated Motion to Amend pass, the Standing Orders of Parliament shall be amended in the manner described below.

First, §1(1) shall be amended to read the following:
(1) These Standing Orders shall be enforced until they are overturned or superseded under the procedures defined herein.

Then, §18 - Amending and Renewing the Standing Orders shall be amended to read the following:
18 - Amending and Archiving the Standing Orders
(1) Any Member may amend these Standing Orders while they remain in force.
(a) A Member may file an amendment on the Standing Orders thread in the same manner as one would file an amendment to a bill. They may then raise a Motion to Amend the Standing Orders to request a vote on their amendment.​
(b) Parliament may pass a Resolution to amend the Standing Orders.​

(2) When Parliament convenes for a new term, the Office of the Speaker shall archive the Standing Orders of the previous term and open a thread for the Standing Orders of the new term.
(a) The new thread shall be titled "Standing Orders of the XXth Parliament", where "XX" is replaced with the new term number.​

(3) Parliament may pass a Resolution to overturn these Standing Orders and supersede them with a new set of Standing Orders.
