This report is intended to provide some insight into the overall state of the government of Alexandria and its citizens. Most of the information in the report is self-reported by citizens, through a form distributed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, or through individual contacting of members of government. Some of the information is publicly obtainable at all times in-game, on forums, or on discord (such as account balances or bills passed). Any questions or concerns can be brought to our attention through a Government support ticket on Discord.

Royal Foreword
From His Majesty, King AsexualDinosaur, First of His Name​

Citizens of Alexandria,

It is of great pride and hope that I write this foreword to you. I am proud of how far we’ve comeas a nation. While still representing a small community, we’ve still managed to build and upholdthat community through some thick situations while our nation is coming together.

Beginning with the mass exodus of wealth of our lands being funneled into the hands of a few through a series of foreign exchange deals that took money from new players and turned it into funds for Redmont - Effectively turning any would-be Alexandrians into Redmontians, leaving them destitute within our fair lands.

There’s a number of other small sticking points in our nation that could list off ranging from the 1% global tax - which hurts our poorer citizens the hardest by taking away from their already meager balance; The requirement to declare a ‘plot-crisis’ before the MoD can take any actions for evictions; The 150% material costs for paste fees (now reduced to 100%); As well as CBDs having taken such a long time to come to existence.

Despite all of this, I still have hope that our nation can overcome these problems and any problems that come before us. Alexandrians are strong, dedicated, and full of pride. We’ve weathered the storms of the past, the previous government’s action or inactions. All that’s left is us.

We should be weary not to let the pride of our great nation or our ideas get the best of us. So many of us have a vision for what Alexandria could be and what it will become, but we should not let our visions of greatness or grandeur blind or halt us from progressing. It’s all too easy to get sucked into trying to uphold certain beliefs and turning to rage or unprofessionalism towards our fellow players.

While we should acknowledge that this is just a game in the sense that we “shouldn’t take it too seriously”, we should equally acknowledge that we’re choosing to play this game and certain aspects of the role play “Should be taken more seriously.” -- We’re all here for different reasons, some for politics, some for economics, and some just to play minecraft with some vague ‘city rp’ element in the background - And while we may not all play for the same reasons, we do all play together, in turn we should respect the avenues in which one chooses to play and reserve our frustrations against each other.

My fellow Alexandrians, It is my sincere belief that this State of the Kingdom represents the beginning of great things to come, and changes to appreciate.

Message from the Prime Minister

From the Office of the Prime Minister, McBrittle419:​

Esteemed Citizens of Alexandria,

It is my honor to address you now as Prime Minister. Thank you for putting your faith in your newly elected government. We are soon coming up on one full year since our great Kingdom of Alexandria was brought into existence. While many are quick to point out the shortcomings, I'd like to draw your attention to our great accomplishments. In that time, we have had three monarchs, four parliaments, and nearly 100 bills legislated. We've built magnificent buildings, written and defended our constitution, implemented new ideas, and built our economy. The dream of Alexandria was simple: to have a nation shaped by the creative thoughts of its citizens. For many, Alexandria is a clean slate. A new nation ready to be molded to our liking. Naturally, it has drawn in some of the most creative minds! You.

As Prime Minister of the fourth parliament of Alexandria, I urge you to consider two things:

First, consider your fellow citizen. Because our great kingdom is full of wonderful, creative individuals, naturally we all have different ideas and thought processes. Rather than allow these differences to hinder us, I urge you to respectfully consider your fellow Alexandrian and strive to work collaboratively with all. If we hold grudges and foster an attitude of division, we only hinder ourselves from reaching our fullest potential. We are not a kingdom run by one or even a handful of individuals. It takes all of us to make our kingdom thrive!

Second, consider our current state. A great kingdom cannot be built overnight. Many of you recognize the areas that are lacking. At times it can feel hopeless. Like Alexandria is nothing but a failed experiment. We all want to see progress and change, but that begins with us all as individuals. We alone are in control of our attitudes and outlook. Let us choose to have hope for the future of Alexandria and work together to achieve great things! That spirit of hope, creativity, and good will is what it means to be an Alexandrian patriot! Let us not forget.
