YOU GOT PRUNED!
A whimsical fancy on economic refundery written by ConsequencesInc

1. What is the Prune Tax?

The prune tax is an inactivity tax first created by the Budget Dumpster Fire Reversal Act and later revised by the PRINT Act. As it currently stands as outlined in §11 of the Revenue Act, 100% of a player's balance and all of their associated business balances in excess of £100 shall be taxed if they have been inactive for 90 or more days.

2. Why was I Pruned?

Because you were inactive, you silly billy! We pruned the money and sent you a message in-game about it as per policy. That may be why you are here now.

3. Can I get my money back?

Depending on the circumstances that you find yourself in, yes you can! Per §11 part (4) of the Revenue Act, we have the following options available to you:

1. If it has been less than 7 days: Per our standing policy, if you open a ticket with the Ministry on Discord and request your funds be returned to you, you may get 100% of your funds back! However, before you receive your funds you must reach a minimum playtime of 4 hours within 7 days of your request being conditionally accepted. After you reach the minimum play time, you will receive your funds. The 7 day period to get playtime up may modified on a case by case basis per Ministry discretion.

2. If it has been more than 7 days or you failed to get your playtime up in the previously mentioned section: You can still get a portion of your money back, however there are a few caveats.

First, you will be getting the following portion of your money back based on the following schedule of how many times you have been pruned before:

Time Being Pruned:Percentage of Pruned Money you will receive back:
1st time70% of Pruned Balance
2nd time50% of Pruned Balance
3rd time or more20% of Pruned Balance

Additionally, you must write a minimum 600 word treatise on one of the following economic topics with at least 2 sources cited in either MLA, APA or Chicago style formatting (If you have previously petitioned with an essay for a refund, you cannot write on the same topic):

-The Issue of Savings as Dead Money in the Economy
-How being an active consumer supports local economies
-Why being inactive in online gaming communities hurts their trade economies
-How to properly fill out a balance sheet
-The value of money as it relates to virtual goods

Please also note that any ChatGPT or otherwise generated works will be subject to immediate denial. If you want your money back, you have to write the essay on your own.

3. You can also get your starting £1200 back: Per §11 part (5) of the Revenue Act, you may receive a one time balance refresh to £1200. This is to ensure everyone, even if they made a few mistakes or lost their stuff in the past, can get a fresh start in the Alexandrian economy. However, by taking the balance refresh you forfeit all rights to any previously pruned money you may have been able to reclaim. This is also a one time deal, so use it wisely. Also, no funny business. If you try to get cheeky, like with defrauding the government, depositing all your money in a bank and then getting a refresh and withdrawing all your other money, or something else like that, nuh-uh. By agreeing to a balance refresh, the MoTF reserves the rights to check your treasury transactions and deny the refresh to any individual who is trying to defraud the government.

4. Conclusion

In summary, stay active and manage you finances well. You only have to log in once every 90 days to avoid getting pruned, that isn't a lot to ask. If you can't do that, I suggest giving your wealth to a trusted holder or a friend to have. Keep the money moving, and if you ever decided to return the MoTF will gladly help you restart in SC.
